Meet Our Pastor
1980 was a turning point in the life of Pastor Brian Rice. It was at this time that he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour. His love for Jesus is evident in his life as shown through his efforts to introduce others to a loving and forgiving Saviour.
In his 13th year he surrendered his life to full time Christian service. His mother and father supported him and enrolled him in a Christian School. After graduating high school Pastor Rice went on to study at Hyles Anderson College. It was during this time he met and married his wife (Carrie) who had previously attended and graduated from Hyles Anderson College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education.
In his junior year at college Pastor Rice felt the Lord's leading in his life to serve Him in Canada and upon graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Pastoral Theology they came to Alberta visiting Edmonton and Calgary. During that trip Pastor Rice was convinced the Lord wanted him to plant and Pastor a New Testament Baptist Church in the city of Edmonton.
Pastor Rice and his family arrived in Edmonton in the summer of 2005 and held the first services of the Cornerstone Baptist Church on July 10th. Edmonton has become their home and they love living in Alberta. They are excited about what God has done and what He will continue to do at Cornerstone Baptist Church.
God has blessed Pastor and Mrs. Rice with 3 daughters; Rebekah Joy, Elisabeth Grace, and their youngest, Hannah Faith who was born in Edmonton.
